Sporting groups, municipalities, government and entrepreneurs get multiple and conflicting advice about the criteria and cost of aquatic sport training facilities. Each time a new or refurbished pool is under consideration, opinions flow and pressure builds from multiple stakeholders. To help streamline and consolidate the available information and provide a long term focus for pool design the Aquatic Sport Council of Ontario was formed in December 2007, with a funding announcement from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The Aquatic Sport Council and its products will be of assistance to all interested parties, in the development of:
pool classifications, standards and designs
an understanding of the value of aquatic sport
a master plan for aquatic sport training and competition pools in Ontario
