If your community is thinking of building new sport facilities, but isn't sure if a swimming pool should be included, please seriously consider the information on this Fact Sheet. There is a need for aquatic facilities and they will be used! If your community has already decided to build a swimming pool, please use this Fact Sheet as as well as the other Fact Sheets to ensure a sport friendly swimming pool is built.

Sport Friendly Pools (Fact Sheet)

If your community is considering building a swimming pool, we urge you to ensure that the pool is "sport friendly". Without careful consideration, one could build an aquatic facility tending towards a "leisure pool" with features tending to be for amusement rather than the health and sport benefits of aquatic sport.

Community Advocacy and YOU (Fact Sheet)

The first step to building a sport friendly pool is the assembly of an enthusiastic, knowledgeable team of community members. This team will work together to create a proposal that highlights the importance of a sport friendly pool.
